Kudos to the art team for Pharaoh, as we are 90% complete with respect to 3D room renders, and are well on our way for room compositions! The feedback from our last playtest has been implemented, and we look forward to showing everyone our next build!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the [Select] [Start] Level Up event! Another great turnout! Thanks to our very own Kevin Laity on his presentation on finding and making the best use out of your programmers!
Pirates Screenshot
Pirates is a content-neutral 2D platformer. In the screenshot above, we have plugged in a question library for the simple typing of numbers. Such a question library would be used for younger students. However, more difficult questions ranging from arithmetic, to fractions, and even spelling or grammar could be used for older students. In the game, the player receives power-ups for completing the treasure chest quiz to a given standard. If you want to look at more art from this game, click here.
Playtest Results

Initial playtest results were very positive. Playtests were done with students ranging from grades 1 to 5. We realized that we had achieved our goal when students started seeking out treasure chests just to do more questions! In one instance, the student obtained over 120 power-up items in a 40 minute period. This corresponded to approximately 400 questions performed, with an accuracy rate of at least 80%.

In addition, playtests were done with several autistic children. Again, results were very positive, with the students focusing on the game through the full playtest session. In addition, the students enjoyed performing the questions, as it allowed them to show off their math ability!
